St. Anthony’s Triathlon – Sunday, April 26, 2009 – St. Petersburg
St. Anthony’s Triathlon in St. Petersburg, Florida, celebrated its 25th anniversary last year as one of the premier multi-sport events in the world. Some 4,000 individuals and 100 relay teams, participated on a safe and scenic waterfront course. The 2009 event, which consists of a 1.5K swim, a 40K bike and a 10K run, will take place on April 26.
As the first major race on the U.S. calendar, St. Anthony’s Triathlon has kicked off the triathlon season in North America since 1983. After a successful first year, St. Anthony’s Event Manager Philip LaHaye has welcomed CAF- Florida again as a designated charity partner, creating Team CAF St. Anthony’s 2009.
A total of 150 slots have been allocated to those interested in racing for CAF. Each team member is required to raise a minimum of $500 for CAF programs, and in return they will receive the following benefits during race weekend:
- A priority start time in the first amateur wave (fifth overall) dedicated to CAF – approx. 7 a.m. start, with smooth water and no waiting time to start!;
- Best bike racking location in the transition area on race day;
- A specially designed Team CAF St. Anthony’s 2009 uniform identifying them as part of The Team;
- Customized race bibs identifying them as Team CAF St. Anthony’s 2009 members;
- A private VIP tent near the race finish just for Team CAF St. Anthony’s 2009 members and their families.
You’ll also be joined by well-known CAF athletes, who will share their stories with the team and be available for photos, autographs, etc. Team members will enjoy the camaraderie that comes with seeing each other during the race and working together for a great cause.
