Ironman 70.3 CA Team Operation Rebound

On March 31, seven injured military service members and first responders will participate as part of CAF’s Team Operation Rebound in Ironman® 70.3 California.  Operation Rebound® is a program of the Challenged Athletes Foundation® (CAF) that provides funding and support to permanently injured service members and first responders to help them become active once again and feel whole through sports.

On a course that affords participants the privilege of cycling across Camp Pendleton –where the Marines who protect our freedom also volunteer their time to serve at race aid stations – Team Operation Rebound provides an unique opportunity to pay tribute to all those who have served honorably and to help our injured troops get back in the game of life through sports.

Over 1,600 US Military personnel have lost limbs in the current conflicts.

These troops went to the frontline to protect our freedom.

Now your support can help get them to the finish line.

By joining Team Operation Rebound or making a simple tax-deductible donation, you can change the lives of our injured troops and first responders. You can join the Team by raising a minimum of $1,000; triathletes already registered in the event get a special team racing uniform, a team luncheon, and the opportunity to compete side-by-side with the inspiring challenged athletes their fundraising directly supports. Team Operation Rebound is open to all Ironman California 70.3 participants.

Although one major conflict is over, many troops are still returning home with traumatic injuries. Thanks to funds raised by Team Operation Rebound and through other CAF initiatives, CAF supported 300 Operation Rebound athletes in 2011, providing direct financial support, mentorship, access to OR’s Military Medical Center Physical Training (MMCPT) program and sports clinics.
