In April 2019, 10-year-old Izzy Turkington was surprised by Seattle Seahawks linebacker Shaquem Griffen with a grant for a pair of Össur running prosthetics at the CAF + Össur Running & Mobility Clinic at the Nike World Campus. When he received them he said, “These look awesome, and I cannot wait to run.” Born with quad congenital limb differences, Izzy had never run before in his 10 years of living. A month after receiving his grant, Izzy competed in a track meet for the first time ever and made it to podium in the 100m!

Grant: Össur Pro-Flex XC
Wendy played sports growing up, and loves to be active. After college, Wendy began desert off-road racing, and eventually became a competitive navigator in renowned off-road races. In April of 2018, she suffered a freak off-road racing accident that caused her leg to be amputated below the knee. Less than a year after her last surgery, Wendy had already participated in the swim and bike portion of a triathlon and has since been training to do a full triathlon. Her new Össur running prosthetic is helping her get back to the active lifestyle she loves!

Grant: Össur Flex Run
Tommy attended a CAF and Össur Running & Mobility Clinic in San Diego where he met many amputees with similar stories and saw a new world of possibilities as an adaptive athlete. A talented athlete before he lost his leg in a motorcycle accident in 2016, he wants to continue a life of fitness and hopes that he can be an inspiration and a mentor to others. His granted Össur Flex run will help him do that!
