Thank You for Making the 2011 24 Hour Fitness Tour de Cove a huge SUCCESS!On Sunday, October 23, La Jolla Cove once again played host to the “Best Day in Triathlon.” More than 7,000 were on hand for a full day of festivities at the Aspen Medical Products San Diego Triathlon Challenge which included the 24 Hour Fitness Tour de Cove. In the heart of La Jolla, 118 stationary cyclists, both able bodied and challenged athletes, went the distance as the pedaled and Kranked® for four-and-a-half hours. The fun Tour de Cove stage was decked out for the event's theme to "Celebrate the Stars and Stripes" as challenged athlete Samuel Nehemiah sang "God Bless America." All told with the contribution from Tour de Cove, the Aspen Medical Products San Diego Triathlon Challenge raised more than $1.2 million (and counting) to fund adaptive sports equipment, training and competition expenses for individuals with physical challenges.
