When Drew Brees walked into the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) headquarters, he expected to meet some incredible athletes. What he didn’t expect was to end up in a playful headlock with a Guinness World Record holder who’s redefining what’s possible in sports and life.
That athlete was Zion Clark. Born without legs due to Caudal Regression Syndrome, Zion has never let physical differences hold him back. Like Drew, he’s a fierce competitor, a relentless worker, and someone who celebrates the big wins—not just for himself, but for everyone watching him break barriers.

Zion rolled into CAF headquarters on his skateboard, full of energy and ready to connect. Without hesitation, he headed straight to the gym, climbing onto equipment and throwing himself into a workout.
He wasn’t there to just meet a football legend—he wanted to swap athletic stories with Drew Brees. “He’s a great football player with experience and life lessons,” Zion said. “He’s giving back to people and organizations, and that makes him a great person.”
The admiration went both ways. Watching Zion’s strength and determination firsthand made it clear why he’s a role model for so many.

Zion’s journey to becoming an elite athlete has been anything but easy. Born into the foster care system and navigating life with no legs, he faced challenges that would stop many in their tracks. But Zion chose a different path.
He excelled academically, stayed positive, and pushed his physical limits. When introduced to wrestling, he met Coach Gil Donahue, who saw Zion’s passion and tireless work ethic. Together, they transformed that passion into competitive success.
With every practice and every lift in the weight room, Zion built tremendous upper-body strength, developing skills that made him a force on the wrestling mat. His athleticism also led him into powerlifting, wheelchair bodybuilding, boxing, and even circus arts—all while balancing motivational speaking engagements to inspire others facing obstacles of their own.

Zion’s dedication has already earned him a Guinness World Record for the fastest 20-meter walk on hands, but he’s far from finished. His next goal is historic: becoming the first American athlete to compete in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games in different sports—wrestling and wheelchair racing—at the Paris 2024 Games.
That kind of ambition requires more than strength; it demands resilience, focus, and relentless belief in one’s potential—qualities Zion embodies every day.

Meeting Drew Brees was more than just a chance encounter—it was a meeting of minds between two athletes who understand the value of hard work, community, and giving back. Like Drew, Zion uses his platform to empower others, proving that success is possible regardless of circumstances.
When the two faced off in a lighthearted wrestling moment, it wasn’t just a fun challenge. It was a powerful symbol of what’s possible when determination meets opportunity.
Zion’s story is a reminder that greatness comes in many forms. Whether on a skateboard, a wrestling mat, or a racing track, he continues to break boundaries and inspire generations to push past their own limits.
