Danny Gabriel: Leading with Gratitude, Sport, and Community

Mariah Wyckoff

“I look at being born with one hand as a blessing,” says Danny Gabriel, CEO of ColRich and CAF supporter. That perspective, rooted in gratitude and purpose, has shaped not only his personal journey but also the way he leads in business, sport, and community.

Danny’s relationship with sport began early. As a former high school 3 sport athlete and collegiate Division I soccer player at UC Berkeley, he developed a deep connection to competition, teamwork, and discipline. Born with a congenital limb difference, he has never viewed it as a limitation, but rather as a defining part of his identity and strength.

Today, that mindset continues to guide how he shows up in every arena of his life.

Building Community Through ColRich and CAF

As CEO of ColRich, Danny has spent over 30 years building communities through innovation & design paired with unique services for those in need. He has intentionally embedded a culture of service and giving back within his organization using sport and philanthropy as a bridge between business and purpose.

That commitment is most visible through his long-standing relationship with CAF.

Danny has been a participant, fundraiser, and advocate within the CAF community for close to 25 years, supporting athletes with physical disabilities through both personal involvement and company-wide engagement. His leadership has helped amplify CAF’s mission of creating access to sport through adaptive equipment, training, and community programs.

Team ColRich: Turning Momentum Into Impact

One of Danny’s most meaningful contributions is the creation of Team ColRich, a fundraising team built for the San Diego Triathlon Challenge (SDTC).

What began as a simple team activation has grown into a powerful fundraising force that has raised close to $2 million for CAF to date.

For Danny, Team ColRich is more than just fundraising; it is a reflection of what’s possible when business, community, and purpose intersect. Employees, partners, and friends come together each year to support athletes with physical disabilities in pursuing the sports they love.

A Mindset That Shapes Everything

Danny’s approach to life is grounded in gratitude and perspective. Whether in the boardroom, on the bike, or supporting CAF athletes at events, he leads with the belief that barriers can be transformed into opportunity: “obstacles build character and drive creativity.”

His journey continues to empower those around him, not through words alone, but through consistent action, leadership, and presence within the CAF community.
