CAF-Idaho Fall 2025 Kids Camp Brings Sports, Smiles, and Community Connection

Chelsea Day

At the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse on October 11, the CAF-Idaho Fall Kids Camp brought energy, laughter, and teamwork to life. The one-day event introduced young athletes of all abilities to two exciting adaptive sports — wheelchair basketball and rock climbing — creating a welcoming environment where every participant could discover new skills and friendships.

Learning, Playing, and Growing Together

Led by Tommy Schroeder, kids jumped straight into the action with an engaging game of wheelchair basketball. The gym buzzed with the sound of wheels spinning, balls bouncing, and cheers from the sidelines as participants learned the fundamentals of movement, control, and collaboration on the court.

Meanwhile, just steps away, coaches from UP Athletics guided athletes through a hands-on rock climbing session. For many, it was their first time scaling a wall — a moment that sparked confidence and joy. With every climb, kids cheered one another on, celebrating each new reach and every successful descent.

A Day of Celebration and Connection

After an active morning, families gathered for lunch and a special video presentation. The day continued in partnership with the Idaho Spina Bifida Association, which celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a vibrant Carnival and Walk & Roll. The shared event perfectly captured the sense of community and connection that defines CAF-Idaho.

As Kaleidoscope Pediatric Therapy said on Instagram, “It was so fun seeing familiar faces, making new friends, and celebrating this amazing community. We’re so lucky to be part of such a supportive group!”

Powered by CAF Support

With 18 participants and 7 dedicated coaches, the Fall Kids Camp exemplified CAF’s commitment to creating opportunities for every child to explore movement, discover passions, and build confidence through sport. These programs — made possible by generous donors and partners — continue to transform lives, one clinic at a time.
