The Switchfoot BRO-AM Foundation is dedicated to giving back to the San Diego community by elevating nonprofit organizations that serve unhoused, at-risk, and disadvantaged youth. Through grants and community partnerships, BRO-AM supports programs focused on music, art, and surfing, creating opportunities that inspire and empower the next generation.
This year marks CAF’s 10th year as a beneficiary of the Switchfoot BRO-AM Foundation. Funding from BRO-AM helps ensure youth athletes throughout San Diego and Southern California receive critical support through CAF’s Grant Program, providing access to adaptive sports equipment, training, and opportunities that foster confidence and independence.

On Thursday, June 11, 2026, BRO-AM hosted its annual Benefit Party, bringing together supporters, community leaders, athletes, and beneficiaries for an evening dedicated to raising funds and celebrating the impact of adaptive sport and community service.

Liv Stone Receives the BRO-AM Legacy Award
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious Legacy Award to CAF Ambassador Liv Stone.
Seven years ago, Liv caught her first wave at BRO-AM, igniting a passion for surfing that would eventually lead her to become a three-time Para Surf World Champion. Since then, she has become a powerful advocate for adaptive surfing, working to ensure that everyone has equal access to the ocean and the opportunities it provides.
Reflecting on the honor, Liv shared:
“The word legacy. An over-arching impact that a person leaves behind on this world. A ripple effect. It’s a word that I never thought that my name would be next to, especially at the age of 23. But over the past few months of knowing that I’d be accepting this award, I started to understand that it was really more than that. It’s not a gold medal or a world title. It’s the kids who see me on the beach and think, ‘Maybe I can do that, too.’ That’s the ripple effect. Small moments that create big waves.”

Just two days later, Liv continued creating those ripple effects by mentoring and surfing alongside seven youth athletes with physical disabilities during CAF’s Expression Session at the BRO-AM Beach Fest, held at Moonlight Beach on June 13, 2026.
The adaptive surf heat featured six local youth athletes who have become familiar faces at BRO-AM over the years. These experienced surfers showcased their skills, confidence, and passion for the sport, proving once again that the joy and freedom of surfing belong to everyone.

Among the competitors was 8-year-old Beauden, who traveled from Lake Havasu, Arizona, to participate in his first BRO-AM competition. While he had previous surfing experience, this marked his debut in the event.
With guidance from expert coach Alex Reynolds, Beauden caught wave after wave throughout the session, earning an impressive top-three finish and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Claiming first place in CAF’s Expression Session was Daisy, a lifelong BRO-AM participant whose father, Jon Foreman, serves as the lead singer of Switchfoot and co-founder of the event.
Daisy was joined by her fellow competitors on stage, where each athlete was recognized for their remarkable surfing abilities, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Their performances embodied the inclusive spirit that defines both CAF and BRO-AM.

The BRO-AM Benefit Party and Beach Fest continue to demonstrate the power of sport, music, and community to create meaningful change. Through partnerships like BRO-AM, CAF can expand opportunities for youth with physical disabilities, helping athletes discover new passions, build confidence, and experience the life-changing impact of adaptive sport.
