Biography:

Cleveland short is a resident of Jackson, MS. At age 18 he joined the United States Marine Corps. On 8 November 1971, he was paralyzed by a gunshot wound to his back. Though severely injured, Cleveland did not let his challenge deter him from becoming active. Within 2 years of his injury, Cleveland was playing wheelchair basketball and by 1975 his team was consistently ranked in the top five wheelchair basketball teams in the nation.

Today, Cleveland’s passion is competing in bass fishing tournaments. With CAF Operation Rebound’s support, Cleveland is able to compete in bass fishing events throughout the United States.
