Bio: Steve joined the Marine Corps right out of high school and served between 2000 and 2004. He was stationed in San Diego all four years at Miramar. In 2001, Steve was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a condition that rapidly deteriorated his ability to see.  He petitioned to stay in to complete his enlistment and was allowed to stay in all four years. During that time Steve got married and started a family.  

After his enlistment Steve and his family moved back to my hometown of Redondo Beach. Steve recently graduated college with a degree in Psychology, specializing in Marriage and Family therapy along with Sports psychology. He now works with fellow veterans who have disabilities transition back to civilian life.  

In 2014, Steve completed his first Ironman event and in both 2015 and 2017 he was a finisher at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, HI.
