CAF-Idaho Cycling Clinic 2023: Pedaling Toward Confidence and Community

CAF Staff

With wheels spinning and smiles all around, the CAF-Idaho Cycling Clinic gave athletes with physical disabilities the opportunity to grow their skills, gain confidence, and prepare for the upcoming Treasure Valley Triathlon—all while enjoying the scenic routes of Boise’s Greenbelt.

Gearing Up for Success

The one-day clinic welcomed cyclists of all experience levels. Advanced riders joined instructors for a skills-building ride along the Greenbelt, while newer riders were guided through the fundamentals of cycling by local partners at Safe Routes to School.

After honing their techniques and getting comfortable on their bikes, the group rode 17 miles together to the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse, ending the day with a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie.

By the Numbers

  • 8 CAF athletes with physical disabilities took part in the clinic
  • 7 dedicated volunteers from Mission43 and BASE offered one-on-one support
  • 17 miles ridden as a group from Quinn’s Pond to the Fieldhouse
  • 1 community united by motion, mentorship, and momentum

Why It Matters

Events like this clinic offer more than just training—they build connections and confidence. Whether preparing for a triathlon or just discovering a love for riding, CAF athletes left empowered to keep pushing forward.
