This program is intended for beginners and intermediate riders, ages 16+, to develop their skills and confidence to take on the trails. This program will cover everything from basic bike maintenance to the skills and techniques required to tackle technical trails. This program is limited to 8 adaptive riders. Athletes are expected to commit to participating for the entirety of the program.

Led by experienced coaches, each session provides opportunities to be immersed in the mountain biking community. Break down barriers with us and create an inclusive environment for athletes with physical disabilities of all levels. Whether you’re a seasoned expert or a first-time participant, the CAF Mountain Biking Basecamp Program will create unforgettable moments on and off the trails.

Prioritizing safety and fun, we ensure that every participant can explore mountain biking in a secure and enjoyable setting. Whether you want to enhance your skills or experience the thrill for the first time, the CAF Idaho Mountain Biking Basecamp Program is designed for everyone to feel the joy of being outside on a bike.

Participation

To ensure personalized attention, this program is limited to just 8 participants. When selecting participants, we will consider factors including: previous mountain bike experience, involvement with other CAF Mountain Bike programming (Apex Weekend, Club Rides), and demonstrated interest in improving as a rider.

This program is limited to Idaho residents.

1:00 pm Trailside Maintenance “class”.
3:00 pm Depart for afternoon Ride
7:00 pm IOFH Dinner

Frequently asked questions
  • Participation is completely free to all registered athletes. This includes coaching, lunch, race entry, lodging (for Idaho Residents coming from outside the Treasure Valley), and dinner (on the Thursday before the clinic begins).
  • Some travel assistance funding is available. Idaho residents can get their entire travel covered for this event (this includes a flight for the participant and one guest/ caretaker for those living in north Idaho).
  • Some travel funding also exists for participants coming from outside of the state.
  • Anyone interested in funding should reach out to April – april@challengedathletes.org for more information.

Absolutely! We encourage family and friends to join us, cheer on participants, join in the race on Sunday, and be a part of the supportive community. We cannot, however, provide any equipment or coaching to family and friends. If you plan to ride along during clinics or group rides, please complete the volunteer registration so we have a waiver on file.
