Lilly Biagini

Challenge: AMC, Bilateral Above Knee Amputee

Sports: Swimming, Horseback Riding, Running

Bio: Lilly is a vibrant, kind and energetic young woman who continues to amaze me in all that she does. Lilly was born with a rare congenital disorder called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita in which her lower limbs were stuck in contractures. For the first 6 years of her life she was unable to walk and unable to participate in activities her peers were.

At age six, Lilly underwent bilateral transfemoral amputations meaning she lost both of her legs above her knees. The minute she got her legs she took off and has never looked back. Despite her struggles, she has overcome many obstacles that have been in her way. Lilly horseback rides, she swims and she attends athletic clinics around the country to both learn and to educate others. She often stops to explain her “bionic legs” to other children and families and is quick to support others going through similar situations to herself.

Lilly loves to be outside and the smile on her face lights up a room when she comes cycling down the street. She has participated in various clinics and loves to help others. After losing not only her home, but her prosthetic legs in the recent Santa Rosa fires, Lilly has remained positive and has continued to inspire those around her.
