With the uncertainty of in-person events due to COVID-19, our CAF High School Adaptive Sports Program (HSASP) will be going virtual! This program focuses on the sport of track & field and will be offered to youth athletes (age 11-18) all over the United States. The CAF High School Adaptive Sports Program will begin on April 5th, 2021 and conclude on May 17th, 2021. Please note, spots in the program are limited, so register today!
The goal of the High School Adaptive Track & Field Program is to support student athletes attending or preparing for high school with coaching, training, and grant opportunities so they can participate and excel on their high school Track & Field team.
All registered athletes will receive a package with essential strength & conditioning equipment. Additional discipline-specific equipment and resources are available for wheelchair racers, seated throwing, and ambulatory throwing athletes.
All coaches of the High School Adaptive Sports Program come from an abundance of knowledge and experience.
All athletes will be provided with discipline-specific practice plans that include warm-ups, drills, and strength & conditioning. Each practice plan covers the six weeks of the virtual program with three practices per week to complete on your own time.
In-line with the practice plan documents the video tutorials will give athletes step-by-step directions on how to complete practices. Tutorials will be sent on a weekly basis and include form, technique, and skill instruction to ensure all athletes are set up for success!
Each week of the practice plans include a weekly challenge that are designed to track athlete progress and provide fun tasks! Completed challenges give athletes the opportunity to earn awesome prizes!
To support the program and adaptive track and field athletes worldwide, we have created 13 Adaptive Track & Field training videos so students, athletes, coaches, and parents can learn the sport of adaptive track and field.
