Do I have to be a member of CAF Cycling Club to ride in support of #TeamCAF?

No. While we’d love to expand our club, the best way we can do this is to be welcoming to potential new members and help them learn more about CAF and why joining the club will be very rewarding. However, we do encourage you to join the CAF Cycling Club as membership has the additional benefits of networking with other cyclists, receiving our electronic monthly newsletter with challenged athlete biographies & highlights, invitations to member-only functions, and receiving Club discounts.

What if I live in San Diego, Northern California, or Idaho and want to be a part of my local Club as well as be connected to the larger community of CAF Cyclists?

We have plenty of ways to keep you connected whether you have a local club in your area or not. If you’re already a member of the San Diego, NorCal, or Idaho Cycling Club and would like to also be included in the monthly Newsletters being sent out to this group, please email [email protected]. We also encourage you to add us on Facebook and Strava to stay connected to other cyclists worldwide.

    Do you hold regular meetings?

No, but there are plenty of ways to stay engaged. We post on our social media channels regularly, update you monthly via electronic newsletters, provide cycling tips and tricks from our expert challenged athlete coaches, and feature some of our challenged athletes around the world. Additionally, if you’re interested, our challenged athlete coaches plan to hold online sessions to check-in and answer any questions you or other members of the club may have regarding cycling.

Can members ride Mountain Bikes? Do triathlons? What kind of cycling is allowed?

We welcome any and all types of cyclists! Our goal is to get as many people around the world on a bike and living a healthy, active lifestyle. You’re welcome to use an indoor trainer, ride outside on your mountain bike, or ride with your new CAF friends when you’re traveling somewhere new. Our organized rides in San Diego and NorCal are primarily road rides, in-season the Idaho club offers both road and mountain biking. We also have many local Club members that will join us on the road or trails and then head off to explore and ride on their own. We just want you to ride! (Local rides in San Diego, NorCal, and Idaho are currently canceled until further notice due to COVID-19.)

We are always looking for enthusiastic supporters of CAF to help us grow our cycling community. You’re welcome to host your own ride and wear CAF gear any time you want. In order to become an official local CAF Cycling Club, you will have to work with our Cycling Events Manager, Anna Griessler. There are certain requirements that must be met in regards to the number of participants, waivers, communication, etc. To learn more about starting your own local club, email Anna at [email protected]. (Due to COVID-19 we currently ask that no group rides be held until further notice.)
