Saul was born and raised in Southern California and joined the Army in 2006. On May 8th 2007, while on patrol in Salman Pak, Iraq, Saul and his fellow soldiers came under attack by an IED. The blast killed two of his close friends and severed both of Saul’s legs.
Saul’s family has been a big part of his recovery. He is married to his high school sweetheart Sarah and they have an infant son Ezekiel. Saul and CAF’s own Rudy Garcia-Tolson were on the same swim team in high school.
Saul has competed in the swim portion of two CA Ironman 70.3 triathlons as CAF Operation Rebound team member.
